Contractor to build state-of-the art data centre in Leicester

Contractor ISG has won a contract to build a data centre for bank Santander in Leicester costing over £100m.

The centre will consist of two separate buildings, each with a 161,000ft2 floor area. The firm said they would be kitted out with a highly resilient services system to allow the facility to operate around the clock.

David Lawther, ISG chief executive, said: “We have been focusing our efforts on the data centre market, bringing together a highly skilled technical team. We expect further growth in this area as we focus on our multinational clients and on their increasingly demanding technical requirements.”
