Star name Paul Stallan follows close associate Alistair Brand out of the door
Global architect RMJM’s domestic troubles have mounted after star designer Paul Stallan resigned yesterday.
Stallan, who joined RMJM in 1995 and ran his own ‘Paul Stallan at RMJM Studio’, quit following the sacking of his close associate and managing principal for Scotland, Alistair Brand, on Monday.
A RMJM spokesman last night confirmed that Stallan had “tendered his resignation which has been accepted”.
Stallan’s departure will be seen as a serious blow to the firm.
He is a former Architect of the Year and won the Royal Scottish Academy Gold Medal for Architecture, as well as RIBA and RIAS design awards for RMJM buildings. He has worked on the world famous Scottish Parliament, and the Falkirk Wheel.
Stallan ran the studio bearing his name with Brand along with four other architects: Ian Harper, Neil Mclean, Conor Pittman and Paul Rodgers, who is now understood to be taking the helm.
